Busan's lively second beach, framed by the Gwangan Bridge, with a dense waterfront strip of cafes and restaurants and a strong night-view draw.
Unlike Haeundae, Gwangalli is organized around the view of Gwangan Bridge at night. Demand concentrates in the hours after the bridge lights come on, and sea-view tables book out for exactly that window.
It is also why so many cafes and restaurants here occupy the second floor and above along the beach road. Within the same venue, the floor and the table you get change the view considerably.
Facing the water carries a view premium. It is a good way to spend one meal watching the bridge, but the prices reflect the position.
A block inland, raw fish centers and unpretentious bars take over. If you want sashimi without the markup, buying from a fish center toward Millak Waterside Park and taking it away is a well-established local option.
Gwangan Station on Line 2 is about a ten-minute walk from the beach. A taxi from Haeundae takes roughly fifteen minutes, so pairing both beaches in a single day is realistic.
During peak summer and the fireworks festival, restaurants along the beach are busy all day. On festival day itself, assume you will not find a seat without a reservation.
